30 Dec Happy New Year!!!
It’s a new year friends and with that brings new opportunities to recreate, reimagine and do things differently. Change is not only a GOOD thing, it’s inevitable! We were born to evolve and grow and sometimes that means letting go of things that no longer serve us.
I recently read a book called, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo. It’s all about the Japanese art of decluttering and organizing your stuff. She says when deciding whether to keep an item or not, you need to ask yourself one question, “does it spark joy?” If it does not, then discard it.
For me, my #1 aspiration for 2017 is experiencing more JOY. I want to smile more, laugh more and surround myself with people, places and things that align with that goal. One thing I am certain of, life was meant to be enjoyed! I know in generating that for myself I will be better able to deliver that to everyone my life touches. What are you inviting into your life for 2017? I want to know.
Below are a few of my favorite quotes from Marie Kondo. Enjoy!
- “The space in which we live should be for the person we are becoming now, not for the person we were in the past.”
- “When we really delve into the reasons for why we can’t let something go, there are only two: An attachment to the past or a fear of the future.”
- “When you surround yourself with possessions that spark joy, you’ll create a home and a life you love.”
