07 Mar DECADENT WEEKEND IN LAGUNA
It looks like it is going to be another beautiful weekend in Orange County, 78 degrees on Friday…so lucky to live in paradise! Just thinking about the warm weather gets me fired up to go spend some time in my favorite OC city; Laguna Beach.
For Brunch Downtown
Anastasia Cafe has great food and atmosphere, every time I’m there, the space is filled with natural light and I’m never disappointed with my order. I love the California Omelet and the Swedish Pancakes (more of a desert than an entree, but totally worth the calories). And such a great location… directly across from the Peter Blake Gallery, one of my faves!
For a Great Walk
My favorite hide away is the Salt Creek Beach by the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel. Just park in the lot next to the Ritz Carlton Resort (south of Ritz Carlton Dr) and follow the path to the beach. At one point you pass through a small tunnel which, if you’re lucky, provides the perfect acoustics to be serenaded by a local musician. After soaking up some sun, I like to walk to the 180 Blu restaurant at the Ritz for appetizers and cocktails. The view is phenomenal and a perfect end to a perfect afternoon.
Katsuya is a relatively new restaurant and has the best sushi. The chef was originally from Charlie Palmer and is incredibly talented. Speaking of incredibly talented… the restaurant was designed by Philippe Stark! Try the Watermelon Cucumber Mojito, delish!
For a Romantic Evening
After a wonderful dinner I love to head over to the Montage Resort, grab a glass of wine from the bar, and sit in front of the fireplace in the main lobby area. Whether it’s date night or fun with the girls, it’s the perfect atmosphere for good conversation.
Do you have a favorite place in OC? Tell me about it.
